Clients can select the home that best fits their vision and modify the layout to better accommodate their family and lifestyle. The Custom Home process is for clients who want something more individually tailored. They may come to us with their own plans, or our team can help establish the architectural direction based on their needs, property, lifestyle, and vision.
Absolutely. A Collection Home is a starting point, not a take-it-or-leave-it floor plan. Layouts can be adapted to better suit your family, whether that means enlarging a primary suite, modifying closets or bathrooms, eliminating a bonus room, adjusting room relationships, or rethinking spaces around the way you live. The goal is to preserve what you love about the original home while making it work specifically for you.
Yes. If you already have architectural plans or a floor plan you love, we can review them with you and determine how they can become the foundation for your Texan Atelier Custom Home. We’ll evaluate the plan alongside your property, desired finish level, functionality, architectural details, and overall investment goals.
No. We have an extensive library of architectural plans, layouts, and design solutions. Rather than automatically beginning every Custom Home from zero, we can identify plans that closely align with your needs and use that architectural groundwork as a starting point. From there, layouts can be modified, and refined around your family, property, square footage, lifestyle, and architectural preferences. This can significantly reduce early exploratory work while still resulting in a home tailored specifically to you. Custom doesn’t have to mean starting from zero.
For clients who already own their land and choose a Texan Atelier Collection Home, the overall process is typically approximately 12 months, depending on the modifications selected, permitting, property conditions, engineering, material selections, and other project-specific requirements.
Custom Homes and projects requiring land acquisition may have different timelines based on the scope and complexity of the project.
One advantage of our process is that both Collection and Custom Home clients can benefit from architectural groundwork we’ve already developed. This allows us to begin from a more advanced starting point and reduce unnecessary architectural development time while still tailoring the home to the client.
Once we understand your property, architectural path, and design priorities, we’ll establish a clearer anticipated timeline and walk you through each stage before construction begins.
Every project is different, but we’re happy to provide an initial investment range based on the size of the home, architectural direction, property, and desired level of finish. If you’ve toured or selected one of our existing homes, that residence can also provide a useful benchmark. Your final investment can move up or down depending on selections, modifications, site conditions, engineering requirements, land preparation, and other project-specific variables.
For a Texan Atelier spec home offered for sale on its existing property, the listed price includes the home and the land, unless otherwise stated.
For clients building a Collection Home or Custom Home on their own property, land is considered separately from the investment in the home itself.
The property can also influence the overall project investment. Site preparation, utilities, grading, foundation requirements, access, drainage, and other property-specific conditions are evaluated as part of the planning process.

Texan Atelier offers two distinct design experiences, both guided by our design team.
Curated Design offers a beautifully simplified approach. Clients choose from professionally developed Texan Atelier palettes in which materials, finishes, fixtures, and details have already been thoughtfully considered together. Our design team then adapts the selected palette throughout the home, creating a cohesive result without requiring every selection to begin from scratch.
Tailored Design is developed specifically around the client. Our design team works closely with you to create the materials, finishes, fixtures, and details around your individual aesthetic, lifestyle, and priorities—developing a design language specifically for your home.
Both experiences include professional design guidance and the same attention to detail. The difference is whether you prefer to begin with a thoughtfully composed Texan Atelier palette or develop your home's design language more individually alongside our team.
As involved as you would like to be. Whether you choose Curated or Tailored Design, our design team guides you through every step, helping you understand your options and make decisions with confidence.

Texan Atelier serves clients throughout Chappell Hill, Brenham, Bellville, The Woodlands, Greater Houston, and select surrounding Texas communities.
